Take a Triumphant Stance: Declare that you are on the Winning Side

Today, we celebrate “Palm Sunday” to commemorate our Savior’s victorious entry into Jerusalem where He was openly welcomed by a large crowd of his supporters with a wave offering using palm branches. Some may ask, why palm branches? Well, palm branches, especially in those days, symbolize victory and honor to one who is deemed royalty. This makes sense, considering that Jesus Christ is the King of kings. This is also why they spread their cloaks as our Savior made His entrance into the city.

Therefore, as believers (His Supporters of this era), on Palm Sunday, we honor His faithful victory, lifting up our “Hosannas” to Him, declaring that He is welcomed in our hearts and that we are willing to submit to His leadership.

However, we need not stop there. Like the large crowd that followed Jesus Christ back then, when we are asked about the cause for our celebration, may we not hesitate to share with others the goodness of our Lord and Savior. Yes, we must always be ready to express the reason behind our victorious stance, letting the world around us know that by entering into relationship with Him, they also can experience a win that is eternally gratifying.
